Some open conflict remains, but neither organization has the resources to chase the other with any strength.
Luke Skywalker and his wife Mara Jade have spent years building a new Jedi Order on Yavin IV... once home to the Sith, and more recently a brief home to the Rebel Alliance. The new Jedi Order has grown slowly but the legend is building again. At the same time, small pockets of those following Sith teaching have appeared in many places around the galaxy.
